I grew up in a family of seven in a small town in Northern Colorado in a rural setting. We had 4H projects and various livestock and poultry animals instilling my love for critters. My Dad and his brothers owned a Construction company where I cut my teeth in carpentry in all aspects of custom home building and wood working.
I have had two full careers and I am now working on my third, retirement, which is wood working, mostly carving.
My first career was over twenty years in custom home building and light commercial, all phases. From a Frame and Finish carpenter to General Contractor.
After working in the construction industry, I decided to return to Colorado State University and get my Bachelor Of Science in Industrial Sciences and Technology which led to my teaching profession in 1991.
My second career of twenty eight years was that of a teacher and Technology Coordinator in a Littleton Colorado high school. I acquired my Masters Degree in Computers in Education in 1996. I retired in 2018. I taught a “Building Trades” class for several years teaching up to twenty students a year the construction of residential houses of which we built one per school year. I also taught manual drafting, CADD, and Pre-Engineering classes.
I love working with wood, especially carving which I took up a few years ago. Most of my carving is done using a Dremel power tool. Some of the items shown on this site are ones I am proud of and like sharing even though they are not for sale. I hope you find things you like.
Here, you’ll find a collection of photos showcasing my skills in carving, using lathes, and general small carpentry and crafts projects.
Carving is a meticulous art form that requires patience and precision. Whether it’s intricate designs on furniture or decorative sculptures, I love the challenge of bringing life to a block of wood. Each movement of the tools are carefully planned and executed to create stunning details and textures.
When it comes to lathes, the possibilities are endless. From bowls and vases to intricate wooden pens, I enjoy experimenting with different shapes and forms. The spinning motion of the lathe allows me to shape the wood with precision, resulting in smooth and elegant pieces.
In addition to carving and lathes, I also specialize in small carpentry and crafts projects. From custom-made shelves and jewelry boxes to wooden toys and picture frames, I love working on projects that require attention to detail and craftsmanship. As a passionate woodworker, I take great pride in creating unique and beautiful pieces that bring joy to others.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss a custom project, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I hope you enjoy exploring my creations as much as I enjoy making them!
