Hand Carved Gambel’s Quail Carvings On A Cholla Cactus Stem

$175.00

Description

My hand carved Gambel’s Quail wood carvings, featuring a female and a male quail beautifully carved from walnut blocks of wood. Each piece is meticulously crafted by me and painted with high-quality oil paints to capture the intricate details and vibrant colors of these charming birds.  I used a wood burner to etch in each feather on both birds.

What makes these wood carvings truly unique is the addition of a Cholla cactus stem, sourced from our hunt in the picturesque desert regions of Arizona. The Cholla cactus stem adds a touch of authenticity and natural beauty to each piece, making it a perfect home decor item or a thoughtful gift for nature enthusiasts.  It is mounted to a nice walnut base.

Gambel’s quail, scientifically known as Callipepla gambelii, is a small ground-dwelling bird belonging to the New World quail family. These quails are native to the arid desert regions of Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Texas, and Sonora. They can also be found in the New Mexico-border Chihuahua and the Colorado River region of Baja California.

With their unique plumage and charming personalities, Gambel’s quail are beloved by birdwatchers and nature lovers alike. Our handcrafted wood carvings capture the essence of these beautiful birds, allowing you to bring a piece of the desert into your home.
